Three Phases is a minimal but complex work. It contains separate layers. The platforms that are used in the performance bring an architectural perspective to the work. By means of the moving platforms, planes are changing and the relationship between the bodies, space and moving planes are questioned. Another layer brings up the issue of “women”. Through the platforms, two women meet in three different risky situations. The dynamics between the characters never turn into a theatre show, but create an abstract association of ideas. This condition developed beyond the control of the choreographer -against her will, even- during the creation process.

Aydin Teker, Turkish choreographer and dance instructor who graduated from Ankara State Conservatory in 1973 and joined Ankara State Opera and Ballet as a dancer. In 1976 she got a scholarship and first went to London and then to the USA. She received her B.F.A. and M.F.A. from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. In 1982 she returned to Turkey and started working as a modern dance Instructor and choreographer at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, State Conservatory where she received her Diploma of Adequacy (equivalent of doctorate degree) in 1993 and the title of professor in 2001. In 1993 she received a Fulbright research scholarship and went to New York again for a year to explore new developments on somatic theories. Her choreographies and site-specific works has been shown in many countries. Among these, Density received a special award at the 22. Zurich Theaterspektakel and her latest creations aKabı and harS have been acclaimed in many renowned festivals. Aydın Teker is currently the Head of the Modern Dance Department and Performing Arts Department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Istanbul.
